Gourmet Magazine voted Casey's Michigan's Best Neighborhood Tavern, and we are inclined to agree! They're located right across from the train station, on the corner of Depot Street and 5th Avenue. Though the bar closes early, at midnight, it's worth getting there early to relax and enjoy the great atmosphere. Note that they are closed on Sundays, and they were non-smoking even before the smoking ban.


The menu is filled with lots of favorites, most of which have had a spot on the menu for many years. And why not, when everything is always so good? The Black Bean Chili is a favorite of ours, with grated cheese, onions, and sour cream. And you've got to love Some Kind of Steak--the menu description reads: "A hunk of red meat prepared in a suitable fashion--ask your server. Served with potato and vegetable." Good stuff.
